Folly Beach will be restored to its health and beauty by a 12-million-dollar-worth Renourishment Project headed by the Army Corps of Engineers. Being one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Carolina, Folly Beach is subject to a total make-over which concerns pumping up 2.3 million cubic yards of sand from the ocean floor. Tourists are complaining that there is not enough beach in Folly anymore, thus the locals intend to deposit 57,500 truckloads of sand (stretching up to 5 miles).
